The Dining Car

We eat in the car.  Sometimes.  When we drive to Southampton on Friday evenings, we usually pick up something to go and eat on the road.  Which can get messy, usually for David and me.  (Julia’s a pretty tidy eater.)

After years of hoarding stacks of give-away paper napkins, forgetting straws and digging in the bag for the tiny packs of salt and pepper, I decided to get organized and put together a car dining kit.  There are oversized cloth napkins for our laps, proper salt and pepper shakers, straws, wet wipes and paper towels for spills, and trash bags to wrap up all the debris.

Now if I could just find a good burrito in Manhattan . . .
